Parental Responsibility

All students (with the exception of Aspiring Twinklers*) must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult. Parents may designate a friend, relative, or caretaker over the age of 21 to take their place.

Families with more than one participating child are not expected to be with their children at all times, but must know where they are and accompany them to class whenever possible.

This policy is in place in order to ensure the safety of all participants, as well as to enable families to make the most of the Workshop experience: parents can be most helpful to their children when they can participate without distraction.

We are pleased to offer two new programs that will assist parents in this regard:

Aspiring Twinklers* Program

Thursday to Sunday 9am-12pm
Ages 3 and up
Tuition $120

This program is meant for children and siblings who are not yet playing an instrument.  Parents are welcome but need not attend this class.  Students should be able to use the toilet.

Children will be welcomed into a safe and nurturing environment in which every activity is meant to awaken the child's enjoyment of music and prepare them for instrumental playing in the future.  Activities may include:

  •     music and dance
  •     children's chorus
  •     finger painting or storytelling
Guardian Angels Program

We will facilitate the process of assisting families who are unable to accompany their children to find 'host families.'

In the Welcome Packet, parents can volunteer to be hosts or they can request a host.

The host family will share the same schedule (the same series of master classes, group classes, and other activities) as the host child.

We require that children be picked up and dropped off in a timely manner, in a designated area.  Both responsible parties will be present as the child is given into the care of their host.

Parents may also make similar private arrangements.
